The shape of this driftwood piece reminded me of a a small sailing ship and the shade was designed to help accentuate its shape. You'll find numerous small holes throughout this driftwood sculpture - evidence of a prior haven for insects.
Collected in North Carolina, the driftwood is cleaned, scraped, sanded and waxed to highlight its natural color and unique wood grain. Reeds are bent to create complimentary shade structures and multiple layers of tissue paper and white glue form the skin.
This lamp contains a 4-watt LED bulb which supplies an energy efficient, cool-to-the-touch 350 lumens. The electrical cord length is approximately 7.5' long.
