The backbone of this piece is cotton fabric hand-dyed to mimic a distant seascape. The early morning sunrise is reflected in a tranquil, calm foregroundand create a hazy mixture of colors.
Once the fabric is mounted to a wooden panel, multiple layers of encaustic medium are added. The medium ensures the finished piece retains a luminescent quality.
